The Farrington Foundation Announces 2008 Governors’ Hall of Fame Inductees
Please join us at the dinner inducting our six honorees into the Governors’ Hall of Fame on July 22, 2008 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Coral Ballroom. (Registration form available for download at end of article.)
At the dinner event, the honorees will be presented with an award sculpture made by renowned artist Satoru Abe.
We have engaged Emme Tomimbang to prepare a video presentation for each honoree which will highlight their personal history and accomplishments.
The funds raised at this event will be used to fund the Farrington Scholarship Endowment Fund. The income from the Scholarship Endowment Fund will be used to fund scholarships to Farrington students attending college and trade schools.
The most important reason for this event is to bring pride to the current Farrington students, alumni and Kalihi community. There are many people who have attended Farrington High School and/or lived in Kalihi and have succeeded in their respective career paths and lives.
Last year’s Governors’ Hall of Fame honorees were Wally Yonamine, ’45, professional athlete and founder of Wally Yonamine Pearl Shop; Koon Hin Choy, ’45, Chartered Life Underwriter; Wally K. Tsuha, ’61, founder of Saturn Electronics & Engineering, Inc.; Bert Kobayashi, ’62, chairman & CEO of Kobayashi Development Group,LLC; and Mufi Hannemann, Mayor of the City & County of Honolulu. The attendees who came to the dinner had a good time and left proud to be from Farrington.
We hope to see you on July 22, 2008 at our 2nd Governors’ Hall of Fame Dinner! |
